Red Ninjakoopa is the leader and the oldest of the Koopa Bros. He wears a red Koopa shell, shoes and a bandana. Red is somewhat pompous and always full of himself, thinking there isn't an enemy too tough for him. He's also very smart, which is noticed when he and his brothers leave their castle and the first Star Spirit, Eldstar, unguarded when he reports to Bowser. Like his brothers and other Koopas, he can't move when he is on his back, due to his shell. Red also thinks he's too cool to forget and yells at Mario if he forgets who he and his brothers are.

- Red Ninjakoopa has three brothers: Green Ninjakoopa, Black Ninjakoopa, and Yellow Ninjakoopa.
- Red Ninjakoopa, along with his brothers, work for Bowser. They are given orders to prevent Mario from obtaining the Star Spirits.
