Poison Pokeys are greenish-blue poisonous Pokeys encountered at Riverside Station and the Pit of 100 Trials. They are tougher than regular Pokeys and have more health. Obviously, by the name, they can inflict poison to Mario, gradually decreasing his health. In Super Paper Mario, Poison Pokeys attack by throwing their segments at Mario like volleyballs. If Mario is hit by any part of a Poison Pokey, he is afflicted with the Poison effect.

Tattles[]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door: That's a Poison Pokey. As you probably guessed, it's a poisonous Pokey. Max HP is 8, Attack is 4, and Defense is 0. If you get poisoned, your HP will slowly drain, so you may want to avoid that. I'm sure you can see this, but they have spines all over, so DON'T touch them. They may be smiling, but that doesn't mean they're happy to see you!

Super Paper Mario: That's a Poison Pokey. It's much like a regular Pokey, but it has poisonous spines... Max HP is 12 and Attack is 2. Watch your step... Being poisoned isn't pleasant... If you do get poisoned, most items that restore HP also cure poison...

Note[]

Poison Pokeys are NOT the same as Pokey Mummies. Poison Pokeys have gained their poison ability by mutation or an inherited trait. Pokey Mummies are dead Pokeys that have risen from the grave and somehow gained the ability to become poisonous. They are weak to Mario's hammer. Poison Pokey also has twice amount of strength than Pokey Mummy.
