Status Effects are conditions that can help or hurt in battle. Mario, his partners, and his enemies can all be affected by them. A list of possible status changes is below.

Status Change Effects
Shrunk
  • Cut Attack power in half.
  • Alter Action Command timing for three turns.
Defense Boost
  • Increase Defense, usually by three, for three turns.
Charge
  • Increase Attack Power of next attack by one.
Confused
  • Chance to use a random Tactics/Attack command on self or against ally for three turns.
Soft
  • Decrease Defense by three.
Huge
  • Double Attack power for three turns.

Poison

  • Take one damage directly after enemy turn(s) for nine turns.
Burning
  • Take one damage directly after enemy turn(s) for five turns.
Dizzy
  • Greatly reduce chance of hitting.
Dodgy
  • Greatly reduce chance of hitting for incoming attacks.
FP Regenerate
  • Restore five FP per turn for five turns.
HP Regenerate
  • Restore five HP per turn for five turns.
Paralysis/Imobalised
  • Skip affected character's turn three times.
Frozen
  • Remove ability to act for three turns.
  • Take one damage when status effect ends.
Status Stasis
  • Unable to increase Star Power, HP, or FP for three turns.
  • Unable to heal status ailments for three turns.
  • Unable to raise Attack Power or Defense for three turns.
  • Unable to use Point Swap for three turns.
Sleep
  • Affected character's turn is skipped five times.

Stomped

  • Lose a random Action Command.

Electric

  • Counters direct attacks.

Invisible

  • Attacks will miss for some turns.
